Week Three: BYE PG
Wow how are we already halfway through our initiative?! Our last week in PG was amazing, and absolutely flew bye. Laura and Kieran finished their last few classes at TCC. They taught more sexual health, substance abuse, and mental health! They enjoyed getting closer with a few of their students and it was hard to say goodbye. We will also really miss our kind guidance counsellors who taught us so much about the Belizean culture, and teaching in general.Mo and Avery had another fantastic week at JC. They wrapped up their lessons with HIV/AIDS, mental health and stigma. This week they had the opportunity to go on a second form (grade 10) field trip to the female farmer of the years farm which was intended to promote the agriculture department for next year. They were given a deliciously juicey pineapple that we all ate after school! They also learned from their students that there are many variations to the common braid (hair salon day!)
On our last Friday afternoon in PG we watched Kieran face off in some one-on-one basketball action with TCC's boys team captain. It was hard to say goodbye to Ms. Rhoda and all of our community connections, they made us feel so comfortable in PG! We arrived in Belize City yesterday and are getting settled in and excited to start teaching this week.
