Hello from Salluit!!

Hello cherished blog followers! We have officially arrived in the beautiful community of Salluit! (like three days ago, but ya girls just got internet)We are staying with our wonderful host, Monique - a teacher at Ikusik (the local high school). For the past few days we have been exploring the community, getting our bearings and introducing ourselves and QHO to various community members. All the teachers have been very receptive to our arrival and are all super enthusiastic about us teaching in their classrooms!!The community is extremely beautiful. It is nestled in a small valley surrounded by many snow covered mountains and filled with DOGS!!! (and ice, Abby has taken to counting how many times she's fallen... so far 5 times in 3 days)We've been asked to join teachers for their after school activities - yesterday was cooking club and Friday is movie night. This gives us a chance to get to know some of the students and the teachers before we start teaching ourselves.
