Saying goodbye to Fort Providence

Hey everyone! Our last week has been filled with so much fun and memories it's hard to know where to start. After a loss in the community, we took time to reflect and taught lessons about grief management to some of the younger grades. We are constantly amazed by the sense of support and love in the community, and this week was no exception. The weather has been very warm this week and we took the opportunity to teach a lesson about physical activity with the K-1 class on the playground. With the junior high class we wrapped up our sexual health lessons and moved on to teaching them about mental health and the stigma surrounding it. As we neared the end of the week, we made time for some fun lessons with the kids. We absolutely loved playing all sorts of games and sports with them and could tell they really appreciated it.We also decided to host a baking night at the school for some of the older girls. We ate TONS of cupcakes (72 to be exact), and had such a fun time decorating them. We are so appreciative of bring able to make memories outside of the classroom with these amazing students.Seeing how thankful the students were for our time there filled our hearts with joy and gratitude. After saying all our thank yous and goodbyes we headed to Yellowknife for the weekend before heading home. We absolutely loved everything Yellowknife had to offer, especially the views from pilot's monument.Looking back, the past 6 weeks have been beyond incredible. The community of Fort Providence is beautiful in so many ways and we are so lucky to have had the opportunity to spend so much time there. We are very thankful for everyone's support and cannot wait to use the lessons we have learned moving forward.Xoxo Chantal and LeahPs. Thanks to all our dedicated readers for tuning in every week :)Pps. Sorry for so many pictures, we just had so much to share!!
