The Start to a Northern Adventure!

Hey there family and friends,Tomorrow is the big day that we are leaving for our Northern adventure to Pond Inlet, Nunavut! In preparation for the trip we picked up a ton of food and supplies as it can be quite expensive up north (hopefully our suitcases aren’t too overweight!) A big shout out to Kelly and Jeff for helping us buy our groceries, pack the food, and teaching us some quick cooking tricks along the way. So thanks you two for expanding our diets beyond Kraft dinner!Our itineraryWe start our day off bright and early tomorrow by taking a plane from Ottawa to Iqaluit where we have a short layover and then fly from Iqaluit to Clyde River and then onto Pond Inlet. We are nervous but also extremely excited to see our new home for the next 6 weeks!Did you know?Pond Inlet is a small, predominately Inuit community in the Qikiqtaaluk Region of Nunavut, Canada and is located in northern Baffin Island. 1549 live in Pond Inlet and the community is 2.5 kilometers long so ATV four-wheelers are the main mode of transportation. It will be 24 hours of sunlight when we are there so we were sure to pack some sunscreen!Love Jill and Kaitlyn
