Countdown to Belize is on!
10 days left!!The primary project can’t tell you how excited we are to head off on project! It is hard to believe we just met our Project Directors (PD) and fellow Peer Educators (PE’s) for the first time in late October, and now the countdown to Belize is on! It’s been an amazing process to get ready for project. We held many fundraisers throughout the year, including selling balloons at the Santa Clause Parade, caroling, creating gifts for the QHO craft sale, and GLO for QHO; they have been so much fun and have allowed us to really bond as a group and get ready to spend 6 weeks together on project!!Throughout the year we’ve also had the opportunity to practice teach our lessons weekly! With Erica, our Project Director’s, amazing feedback, we hope to take all that we have learned over the course of the year to do our best teaching in Belize! We can’t wait to be trying out the lessons in front of a real class. Now, in the final week and half, we are busy preparing between exams and packing, to get together all the final materials and make the last final tweaks on our lesson plans. This year the Primary project will be teaching in the districts of Toledo, Stann Creek and Belize City. We will be teaching in Primary schools in each district for a total of 2 weeks each, and we will be switching schools each week. We are excited this year to implement a revised Group Violence/Decision Making lesson plan and Peer Influence Lesson plan. This year on project, we also hope to implement several teacher workshops that will allow our group to be able to collaborate with different teachers and schools all across Belize!Follow our blog throughout all our Unbelizable adventures! Here is the Primary team at the final QHO banquet- from all of us we can’t wait to be teaching under the sunny skies of Belize soon!Love from the Primary Project,Jenna, Ali, Jeff, Erica and Hilary
